INTRODUCTION

21-23 SEPTEMBER 2017 • CENTRAL LONDON

london
is
regarded…

…as a hotbed of worldwide design and lighting specification.

This status has continued to strengthen with UK-based architects, designers and lighting designers creating high profile projects all over the world.

According to mondo*arc’s 2017 International Lighting Design Survey there are now over 100 lighting design practices in London alone. These account for half the UK’s total of lighting design practices. And that’s not to mention the thousands of interior designers and architects that are based in the UK’s capital and beyond. The vast majority of these designers not only specify in the UK but have a significant portfolio overseas. This makes London the capital of international specification.

That is why it is important to have a lighting specification event in a convenient location in the heart of London’s design community during London’s biggest design event, London Design Festival.

darc room will give lighting manufacturers the chance to tap in to this market in a convenient location in the heart of London’s design community during London’s biggest design event, London Design Festival.

Exhibit at darc room and you’ll get to talk directly with key decision makers involved in specifying lighting products all around the world.

designers
are bored…

…of average trade shows at soulless venues in out of town locations.

They want properly curated exhibitions in a central location as part of an exciting event organised by creative people for a creative audience.
Leading lighting design publications, mondo*arc & darc, together with creative consultants Light Collective, the people behind the darc awards, bring you darc room, a curated, creative lighting exhibition for specifiers and designers in the heart of London as part of London Design Festival.

location, location, location

We all know that it is extremely difficult for architects and designers to get out of their studios to visit any event, let alone one that takes them well over an hour to get to. Having a central location will make it easier for you to attend and, with the promise of something new and exciting, will create a…

buzz, buzz, buzz

Being part of the London Design Festival has an obvious advantage to a standalone show in that the city is already buzzing with designers who are looking for inspiration and who set aside time to leave their studios knowing there is so much to see. darc room will be part of the London Design Festival programme and will benefit from its marketing to the hundreds of thousands of visitors that attend the event. That’s in addition to…

darc, darc, darc

This is our third darc event brand following the incredibly successful launches of darc awards / architectural and darc awards / decorative in 2015 and 2016. The darc awards is a unique concept utilising mondo*arc and darc magazines’ reputation as being the most widely read and respected lighting design publications in the world and fully engages with the specifiers who participate.

darc room will immediately follow the 2017 darc awards / architectural allowing us to show the creative installations from darc night, the awards event, alongside exhibitors who take advantage of our creative display modules.

darc room will feature a comprehensive lecture programme, darc thoughts, featuring such creative thinkers as Daan Roosegaarde, Felix Hallwachs (CEO of Studio Olafur Eliasson’s Little Sun solar light project), lighting designers Dean Skira and Kerem Asfuroglu (Speirs + Major) and industrial designers Daniel Stromborg (Gensler) and Elon Billings (Billings Jackson Design).

See speakers here.

darc room will also feature Studio Olafur Eliasson’s Sunlight Graffiti interactive installation where visitors can create their own Sunlight Graffiti images with a Little Sun solar lamp.
